| Abstract | A brief physical and geographic characterization of the Gerkhozhansu River basin is given. The state of mudflow generation centers and potential mudflow massifs in basins of the Gerkhozhansu River and its right tributary Kaiartysu River is analyzed. The results of meteorological, hydrological observations and route studies of the Gerkhozhansu River mudflow basin are considered. An orographic scheme of the Gerkhozhansu River basin is refined. The pattern of sources and centers of mudflow generation in the Kaiartusu River basin is corrected. Recommendations based on the results of the Gerkhozhansu River basin study are given. |
