| Abstract | The President of the International Permafrost Association outlines an IPA contribution to the International Polar Year and Year of Planet Earth. The project "Thermal State of Permafrost (TSP)" is proposed by the IPA to collect data on temperatures in new and existing boreholes over a specific time period to capture a "snapshot" of permafrost temperatures in time and space.
