| Abstract | A summary of cryosphere satellite missions (in orbit, approved, planned/pending approval) during the International Polar Year 2007-2008. The Global Interagency IPY Polar Snapshot Year (GIIPSY) is defined as advancing polar science by facilitating the capture of IPY snapshots of processes in the polar regions. The main objective being coordination of Arctic and Antarctic observations with satellite instruments and to deliver derived data to the scientific community. (mte) |
