| Abstract | The data available on the grounded ice discharge and accumulation of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet carried out by national and international programs during last 50 years and published in the various issues are managed and analyzed. Significant increase of the grounded ice discharge is obtained for the major part of East Antarctic Ice Sheet. Comparison of the discharge value obtained and data available on snow accumulation in the East Antarctica shows the positive balance over last 25-30 years as well as the increase of this value towards the end of the 20th century. The proposed activities on study the current grounded ice discharge and mass balance of Antarctic Ice Sheet during the International Polar Year are presented and discussed. |
