| Abstract | This work presents a procedure for preparing new forms of cartographic productions (computer animations) and techniques for their geographical analysis. Interactive modeling and visualization of the animation successions have been performed over a series of digital models. The classification of dynamic geoimages by their dimensionality, peculiarities of graphical representation, rapidity of demonstration, and by other parameters is suggested. Potentialities of cartometric and morphometric processing of animations and preparation of derivative dynamic images are studied. The utilization of cartographic animations for the study of glaciers, distribution of snow cover, changes in temperature fields in the ocean is exemplified. The role of animation in development of virtual cartography is noted. |
