Abstract:This article presents the results of an analysis of ray pattern in research on the nature of echo signal recordings made in a large range of angles. A description is given of three potential sources of error in measuring the reflection velocity of signals. Examples of detailed measurements of reflected signals in a broad range of angles in 1967 at the coast of eastern Antarctica and in 1970 in the vicinity of Byrd Station are presented. (Auth.)
